You know it's GOOD ... ... ...

It's times like today when you know that you are doing something right in your life.

A few weeks ago, my neighbor and good friend was having a bad toothache.  After recommending a great dentist at an even greater price, I found myself sitting in a black metal chair in the corner of a dentist office consoling my friend at the news of having to get a few fillings.  No one likes going to the dentist, no matter how old we get, it's just one of those things we do not enjoy much.  So, after 2 visits for fillings, lots of Novocain, and a couple trips to Starbucks to make her feel better, things were starting to look up. 

Today, my friend calls me and says that I have no choice what we are about to do. GREAT!! What could she be talking about right? "We are going to go get our nails done together." she says.  WOW!! What a sweetheart! All I did was lend my friendship hand to help her through a tough dentist visit and she is completely spoiling me today.

We meet at my house, go to Starbucks for a skinny caramel macchiato, and head to the nail salon where we pick the same bright pink polish, snuggle into the comfy big oversized massage chairs and slip our toes into the bubbly warm water. Total relaxation!  What a wonderful feeling as someone else works to make your feet sandel worthy again by soaking, scrubbing and massaging, then after painting them all pretty pink, they switch to your hands where the whole process begins again!!

After the pampering was finished and we took ourselves to Target to browse a sale rack or two, we came back to my humble abode to play cards and have a glass of wine, only we never played cards, we just began to talk. 

You know you are doing something right in your life when a person you meet in the gym becomes the closest friend you have in a big intimidating city, where that person can tell you all their deepest darkest secrets and you can do the same with them.  You know its good because you aren't afraid to share about the real reason life is simply good.  You know its good when you both have the best time together, laughing, crying, being serious or cracking jokes, and most of all you know are doing something right in your life when GOD is in a friendship and you know because of that, that friendship will last a very long time!
